Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty
Reverse shoulder arthroplasty is indicated for patients with severe rotator cuff deficiency or arthritis. Dr Edoardo Giovannetti De Sanctis provides international patients in Nice and along the French Riviera with advanced surgical care, pain relief, and tailored rehabilitation for functional recovery.
Unlike anatomic replacements, this technique reverses the normal ball-and-socket configuration: a metal ball is placed on the glenoid, and a socket is attached to the humerus.
This configuration allows the deltoid muscle, rather than the damaged rotator cuff, to power the shoulder, providing improved strength and stability.
Reverse shoulder arthroplasty is highly effective in reducing pain, restoring functional movement, and helping patients return to daily activities when traditional treatments are no longer sufficient.
