Clavicular osteosynthesis

Clavicular osteosynthesis is performed to repair displaced clavicle fractures. Dr Edoardo Giovannetti De Sanctis, based in Nice, offers international patients precise surgical fixation and post-operative rehabilitation to restore shoulder stability and function.

During the operation, we will reposition the broken pieces of bone and stabilise them using a small metal plate and screws. This fixation allows the bone to heal in the correct position, helping to restore shoulder alignment, movement, and strength.

The procedure is usually recommended when the fracture cannot heal properly with a simple sling or when early recovery of shoulder function is important, for example, in active individuals or athletes.

After surgery, the arm is supported with a sling for a short period, followed by a rehabilitation program designed to gradually restore mobility and strength.

Most patients experience a rapid reduction in pain and a complete return to daily and sports activities once healing is complete.
